Lube 101: The Essential You Shouldn't Skip

If there's one upgrade that makes almost everything better, it's a good lubricant. Lube reduces friction, increases comfort and makes sensation smoother — for solo play, partnered play and toys alike. Here's how to choose.

Water-based

The all-rounder. Safe with every toy material and condoms, easy to clean, and gentle on the body. The trade-off is that it can dry out, so keep it close and reapply as needed.

Silicone-based

Long-lasting and silky, and it won't dry out — ideal for longer sessions or in the shower. Just avoid using it with silicone toys, as it can degrade the surface over time.

Hybrid

A blend that aims for the best of both: the glide of silicone with easier clean-up. A great middle ground.

Whatever you choose, go for a body-safe formula and start with a little — you can always add more. It's the small essential that quietly makes everything else feel better.
